hairstyle violence

Wow. As averse I am to the emo lifestyle and ethos (well only the music), it seems like the only crime these kids ever did was to dress weird. Its funny the clip when the kid says that he is only mad because they are copping the punk's "style." Since when was punk a style? Wasn't the idea of punk, anti-style. But what do I know about punks and style go talk to the Exploited and they can talk to you about how being punk and style, how many cans of hairspray to use and which volor is the punkest socks to wear. Is this a reflection of the homophobia rampant in some circles as a lot of emo-dudes tend to dress androgenously? Is the fact that eh emo-kids are being attacked is just because they are the "other"? Doesn't this remind anybody of Quadrophenia? Why is it a common theme for one sub-culture to atack another? Why don't the emo's and punk's and "rockabilly"'s just join forces and attack the state?

So many questions, I know. But I do know this the Hare Krishna's sashaying into the fray at 2:00, pretty much rule the school.

If I wasn't locked in my house studying I would totally be going to this show at the infamous Jiggers. I haven't been there in years in any event, any show with pachanga punkers Pinata Protest is a sure bet with me. The ultra-heavy earth-first sludge rockers Ecocide is also tops. The other bands I haven't heard of. Terror Management Theory sounds political, listening to their stuff the vocals sounds pretty badass. New Narcotic Youth, from their myspace sound pretty ferocious like old school california skate punk. It seems like a can't miss show.

Fidel Castro resigned from his post in Cuba and has his brother taking over. Its inevitable this experiment in Communism looks like it is going to fall eventually. What a bummer. Like all good beautiful ideas it always seem that when faced with the practicality of the world and capital it seems that things get waylaid a litte. I have always wanted to travel to Cuba, I intend to sometime soon, I just really wish that Fidel Castro had a cloning machine, if anything to get the goat of all those annoying Cubanos in Little Havana. They have been selling shirts of ol' Fidel dead. I don't know it just seems in bad taste. But I am not Cuban nor have I experienced the Cuban revolution, but something about about all those landowners and little imperialists fuming in their old age, kind of warms my heart you know?
